Where Was I Today?

There is a certain blogger who probably knows exactly were I was when I took this. All I'm gonna say is that is the museum display area of an Air Force base. The rather large plane seen from the tail to the left is a B1B bomber, and further to the right is a 707 decked out in Presidential livery. Another huge plane not visible in this shot is a B52. As many times as I've been to this town, you'd think I'd have visited these planes on display, but alas, I have not.

Dyess Air Force Base near Abilene, Texas? I'm trying to think of very flat states that would have had a President who was modern enough to have a plane. Texas is what I'm getting.

The plane is there more because the AFB services the Air Force Ones and associated aircraft rather than having a recent president.

Actually, the base is between Lisa's and Robert's guesses. 3C - we go there very little AFAIK. Not much oil exploration nor need for big liquid fertilizer storage tanks - like twenty to thirty thousand gallons at a whack - in your area.

We do make tanks for other industrial purposes - I've hauled to biofuel, chemical, and municipal water treatment plants. Mostly fiberglass but sometimes stainless or carbon steel construction. We also do a lot of business with feedlots with insulated tanks for their molasses and fat storage. We also make above and below ground fuel storage stuff (we have to meet and get UL listed for that), and I've even hauled a special jet fuel junction tank to a new pipeline terminal.

So, all we gotta have to go to your area is a customer or three!

Looks kinda like you're westbound on I-40 north of Tinker, which does indeed have a B-1B, although I don't remember the pavement looking that unpockmarked. :)

Chaz, I figured you'd know right off! That pavement is pretty fresh, unlike the flyover area downtown. Sheesh.
