An Anecdotal Study On The Effects Of Gravity On The Right Foot While Driving And Listening To Certain Rock Songs

Y'all will probably kill me since I'm putting up twenty songs. Probably gonna be the "TL: DR" version of watching videos. Anyhoo, here is a list of songs that make my right foot derned heavy, and I've avoided the obvious ones like I Can't Drive 55 and so on.

But they all have the same effect on me - my right foot gets heavy. Probably a good thing for my license that I generally use cruise control.

This one by Sammy Hagar is pretty well off the beaten path - it just isn't heard much on terrestrial radio anymore, and I sure haven't heard it on SiriusXM, either. It's every bit as hard drivin' as I Can't Drive 55.

Can you say one hit wonder? I knew you could!

Well, thanks for bearing with me this far. This is by no means a Top Twenty or a definitive list - it's just some of what I happen to have digitally. There are way more I'm forgetting, and if there are any that you feel I egregiously left out, be sure and let me know in the comments!

Will never forget being in the mountains near Blue Mountain Lake NY. Seems like it was an old Kansas song that came on....was riding with my relatively new driver son....yowsa! He agreed not to play that one while he was driving any more. lol BTW, like your taste.

Sign of the Gypsy Queen? Yowsa. Haven't heard that for ages.

In my younger days, most any up-tempo rock'n'roll would have me pushing the limits. We could just go on and on with this.

Easy Livin'
Highway Star (from Made in Japan)
Hoedown (ELP rendition)
Keep Pushin' On
Radar Love
Are You Gonna Go My Way?

Oh yeah, great choices! And I had forgotten that the live from Japan version of Highway Star was so awesome.

Ohh, all good ones.

My first thought on the go-fast songs is ZZTop - take your pick.

Some others off the top are Head East's Never Been any Reason, Steve Miller's Take the Money and Run, Deep Purple's Stormbringer, Doobie's Listen to the Music, Rockin' Down the Highway, China Grove. And let's not forget the Nug - I'm thinking Great White Buffalo. How about some Molly Hatchet? Or Allman Brothers?

My OCD will now kick in and I will get back with you. :)

How could I forget Led Zeppelin? Immigrant Song, Communication Breakdown.

What about some Jimi?

As I got older, I couldn't lay down the rock, but I picked up the "alternative christian contemporay" as my music of choice.

Audio Adrenaline has some of the best driving songs.....wore out Bloom and Some Kind of Zombie CD's.

My pick for "driving" songs:
I'm Not the King and Some Kind of Zombie (remix).

Some others that are close seconds are Mighty Good Leader, Memoir and remake of Free Ride.

Nowadays, its all Skillet (but I'm getting too old; it hurts my ears). Try the album Awake.

It's a veritable music library - collect all these on a MP3 player and I'd be set!

Just about anything by AC/DC. Can't believe nobody brought up a single tune by them.

The Twilight Zone - Golden Earring
(someone already listed Radar Love)
Hard to Handle - The Black Crowes
Precious - The Pretenders
Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen
Copperhead Road - Steve Earle

to name a few (of my MP3's, of course)
